Look-At-That is an exercise you and your puppy can practice to help them create positive, pleasant and calm associations with their world. The first stage of training works to change your puppy emotional response. Once feeling good about the distraction, your puppy can then learn how to disengage from it and offer their attention elsewhere.

  • Common ‘distractions’ puppy-parents work around are birds, people, dogs, and traffic.

  • Have your puppy on a lead attached to a back clip harness

  • Use your puppy’s FAVOURITE treats

  • Use your “Yes” marker (instead of a clicker)

  • Work at the distance your puppy can handle - take more space as needed

  • Follow these steps, only moving forward when your puppy is consistently succeeding
