Our goal is to make your life with your dog/s pleasant and enjoyable for humans and canines. Sometimes certain behaviours stand in the way of this and we want to help you fix that.

Common private training topics include:

We offer a dog training approach that works and can be applied by the whole family. No yelling or intimidation needed, no more frustration: just a calm and peaceful relationship with a dog that is happy to work with their humans.

We help you put in place clear rules and boundaries and give you a consistent, easy strategy to enforce them.

We offer lots of hands-on advice in our training and through us sending out professional videos, photos and summaries you can share your new knowledge with all the people involved in the dog’s life.

We understand how important your dog is to your family and how unique every dog and family is. We conduct a thorough assessment and provide you with tailored plans for your individual situation and we are there for you to answer any questions that may arise.

Our training locations are the Ferrymead Estuary Veterinary Clinic, the St. Albans Tennis Club and the MacFarlane Park Centre or we can come to your home or local area.

Prices

IN OUR TRAINING LOCATIONS (St Albans, Ferrymead or Shirley):
HOURLY RATE: $140, charged in 15 minute increments at $35
NO TRAVEL FEE APPLIES!

IN YOUR HOME OR LOCAL AREA:
HOURLY RATE: $120, charged in 15 minute increments at $30

BEHAVIOURAL TRAINING SURCHARGE:
For dogs that have behavioural issues, like fear, aggression, anxiety, etc.
The session is 90 minutes long at our rates described above and follows a thorough study of a long questionnaire that you return to us before your first session.
A $100 fee applies at the initial consult for the Pre Training Preparation & Extensive PERSONALISED Training Plan. Follow-up sessions do not have a behavioural surcharge.

OBEDIENCE TRAINING:
A summary that is sent after the training with additional info and videos on the exercises discussed and practised is recommended. Fee $50.

PACKAGE DEAL FOLLOW-UPS: Should follow-ups after the package deals be required, the half hour fee is reduced to $60 in our locations or $50 plus travel in-home.

PACKAGE DEAL IN-HOME: For In-Home Package Deals we add the travel fee reduced by 20% to the package price.

STOOGE DOG SESSIONS: In-Location hourly rates apply, no travel fee. An additional cost of $30 is added for the stooge dog handler.

Please note that we don't call ourselves Dog Behaviourist Christchurch because we strongly believe this word should be protected for practitioners that have behaviour degrees. We do however work with behavioural cases, do behaviour consults and trainings and are happy to get a veterinary behaviourist on board if need be.
