Lisa has an in-depth knowledge and a lot of experience with training and working with dogs and puppies. We could tell she has a real passion for it too! We were very impressed with her training skills, and we and our puppy have learned so much, and it was a lot of fun. Thanks Lisa!

###Puppies should join class as soon as from 7 week onwards, only requirement is that they have received their first vaccination.###
The main task when training a puppy is getting them to enjoy working with and for you. You don't benefit from training if our puppy has great commands at home, but doesn't listen out and about. The key to that is FUN & FOCUS. If your puppy thinks that you are better than the distractions out and about, they will choose you first. Now we only need to gradually increase distractions without setting our puppies up to fail and you will have a focused pup who will do whatever you ask them to in any environment and will love doing so as well. Will you achieve this by training with your puppy once a week? No, you won't. We will provide you on a weekly basis with all the tools you need in order to train your pup and you will need to do the training on a daily basis, and continue after the 8 weeks of class. The good news is that just a few 5-minute sessions a day will be enough and those constant bonding exercises will make you and your pup the best team in no time.
The first session is a lecture without the puppies where we will cover all the topics of how your pup learns what is okay in our human world and what is not, how to get the pup toilet trained, stop the nipping and jumping and what an ideal day for the pup would look like. What will you and your pup learn in the following 7 weeks? Basic commands like SIT, DOWN, STAY, COME, HEEL & DROP, but even more important how to play with each other, how to communicate with each other and how to pay attention to each other in environments with distractions.
How will we be able to address so many things in only 8 sessions? You will get weekly training videos from us where we explain and show the exercises already. That way we can use the time in class to answer questions, fix what isn't working and to practise in higher and higher distraction levels. You can always check back to the videos as a refresher as well. Your pups and you will enjoy every minute of class because we set training up for you to succeed. And of course the pups get to play at the end of class and we will make sure they gain confidence, learn play boundaries, don't get a fright and... have FUN.

Basic Obedience for Adult Dogs
Adult Dogs usually need some special attention when we start with training. They have a few habits that we want to correct and sometimes some little issues that we want to work on before we go into a group class. On the plus side they often know a lot of basic commands already. Therefore, we pick Adult Dogs up where they are at and prepare them for a Group Class in private training. Once they are ready, they can join our Level 2 Class.
Fun & Focus Level 2 - Class (for dogs that have graduated from Puppy Class or Adult Private training)
4 dogs per class, Spots available: Click here for upcoming dates.
6 week class - $280
Would you like to proceed further on increasing distractions with the basic commands you already know, but also learn how to bring training to the next level? A dog that helps you to put their harness and lead on, a dog that calmly greets visitors, a dog that is relaxed at the vet and helps them with their examination, a dog that drops in a down on a distance, a dog that fetches objects for you or even tracks them down. Sounds too good to be true? Don't underestimate what you and your best friend can achieve with each other if you commit to the training and have fun!
If you haven't joined a Fun & Focus Level 1- Class, but have previously graduated from Level 1 Classes with Lisa at her previous employment or with Els from Trainimals, then please get in touch. We will sign you up and send you some videos to catch up to the Fun & Focus - Exercises in no time.
You have done some sort of previous training, but not with us? Let's meet for a half-hour session to make sure we are all on one page. Maybe we can catch you up with some videos or maybe it turns out that you will still greatly benefit from our Fun & Focus Level 1 - Classes since they are very different to the Puppy Classes that are around.
Lead Walking - Class (for dogs that have graduated from Puppy Class or Adult Private training)
5 dogs per class, Spots available: Click here for upcoming dates.
5 week class - $200
In our Lead Walking Class we work outside if the weather allows it. We set up walking stations where we use the other humans and dogs as distractions. We will also use skateboards, bikes, cars, wheelie bins, piles of leaves and sticks as distractions. Hopefully there will be some children running around as well that we can use for our training purposes. :) Your dog needs to be able to walk on a lose lead when there are no distractions around to be suitable to join this class. We can do private training to get you to that point if this is not the case yet. As in all our classes we don't allow head halters or choker chains. Whilst an easy walk harness can be nice gadget it will not be suitable for Lead Walking Class as we want our dogs to learn that a lose leash gives them access to the environment, we don't want to rely on equipment.
We have just finished 3 weeks ago puppy class level 1 with Lisa at the Ferrymead vet clinic. Lisa is fantastic, she really knows how to talk to the dog and get the best out of your dog. Our puppy thrived in the classes and learnt so much. So much so that we have signed up for level 2 with Lisa all of which our puppy is enjoying. Thanks Lisa.
