Charlene - Socialisation Supervisor & Day Trainer

Charlene has always had a passion for animals & over the last 20 years has had the pleasure of having a number of horses & dogs in her life.  Her passion for helping the underdog, led her to be an avid follower of Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue which over time led to her being the Treasurer & Secretary as well as a Duty Manger on a voluntary basis.  The more time she spent with the dogs the more she wanted to learn how to help them overcome their fears, how to raise a balanced puppy and what advice to give adopters for general issues and obedience training in the home.  For Charlene it was a natural progression to learn more about force free training techniques and to have some formal training in that area which in 2018 led her to complete a Certificate in Canine Behaviour with The International School for Canine Psychology & Behaviour Ltd. During her studies Charlene connected with Sit Happens and joined the team in early 2018.

Charlene’s four-legged child is Neza who was dumped at 9 weeks old, starved and with a broken leg. Thanks to people like Charlene’s vet believing in second chances, Neza quickly became part of Charlene’s family, makes her laugh every day and everyone feels very privileged to have her in their life.
