Just finished Puppy Classes with Lisa - she’s a brilliant teacher, fun and very helpful. She really understands the puppies and helps with all areas, not just training. I can’t recommend her highly enough and we look forward to doing Level 2 with her.
Leadership over Dominance
Cooperation over Confrontation
Science over Tradition
Sit Happens works with the Code of Ethics of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers New Zealand. We use only force free, humane, science-based training methods, based on your dog's natural instincts and follow the LIMA-principle.
Sit Happens wants to help you develop that special bond with their dogs, based on mutual trust and respect, closing the big gap that existed in Canterbury to offer high-class, science-based training where dogs are truly the first priority. We believe that true professionals are never done learning and invest in constant up-skilling, including going to conferences at least once a year.
Sit Happens is a Living Wage Employer. A Living Wage is the income necessary to provide workers and their families with the basic necessities of life. A Living Wage will enable workers to live with dignity and to participate as active citizens in society. The current living wage rate is $21.15 and increases every year in September. The Living Wage is an hourly rate and as a Living Wage Employer we pay workers a minimum of the current Living Wage rate for every hour worked. Trainees are employed on 90% of the current Living Wage for a maximum of a period of 12 months, or 1040 hours of work, whichever is the lesser. Latest after this period the full Living Wage rate applies, usually sooner as the trainee graduates to more self sufficient tasks. https://www.livingwage.org.nz

MEET THE TEAM
We have just finished the puppy fun and focus class with Katya which we would 100% recommend to anyone with a new puppy. Katya was full of knowledge and so helpful with any issues we had settling in our over energetic puppy! Zoey absolutely loved coming to class and playing with the other puppies at the end!
